Employment Tax serves as a crucial element for any organization. We provide guidance to both businesses and their employees, focusing on practical solutions to enhance expense management, educating them on new regulations such as IR35, offering sensible solutions when compliance challenges arise, addressing inquiries regarding optimal employee compensation and benefits taxation, and implementing innovative or revised salary sacrifice schemes for employee benefits.
We are seeking a seasoned Manager to become part of a thriving and expanding national Employment Tax division, presenting ample opportunities for professional advancement. This role offers the flexibility of full-time or hybrid working arrangements.
Role Responsibilities
As a proficient Manager within our Employment Tax division, your responsibilities will include:
Providing expert advice to a diverse clientele on various employment tax matters, including the administration of PAYE and NIC concerning employee payments, expenses, and benefits, as well as determining employment status (including IR35). Assisting employers in realizing cost efficiencies through the development of more effective compensation and benefits frameworks. Overseeing Employment Tax compliance and minimizing both internal and external risks, particularly concerning year-end reporting and issues such as National Minimum Wage and holiday pay. Conducting Employment Tax assessments, whether as part of due diligence, health checks, or independently. Contributing significantly to the Employment Tax and broader Employer Solutions group, engaging in stimulating and rewarding projects across a variety of clients. Enhancing the reputation of the Employment Tax division and Grant Thornton through high-quality service delivery.Ideal Candidate Profile
To join us as a Manager in Employment Tax/Employer Solutions, the essential qualifications you will need include:
ACA/ACCA/CTA qualification or an equivalent credential. Strong communication abilities and the capacity to lead projects effectively. A minimum of three years of experience in Employment Tax.While not mandatory, the following skills would be advantageous:
Up-to-date knowledge of UK tax regulations and prevalent Employment Tax issues (PAYE, NIC, IR35, etc.), along with an understanding of implications arising from the Budget and HMRC consultations. A thoughtful approach to complex challenges, grounded in sound judgment and research, with the ability to communicate with empathy and impact. A resilient spirit in challenging situations, taking ownership, and a proactive attitude towards pursuing business opportunities while fostering a collaborative team environment. A willingness to leverage technology to enhance efficiency and maximize client engagement. Proficiency in analyzing client challenges, synthesizing information, and delivering clear and consistent communication.Our Culture
