About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Carbon Capture Engineer to lead the development and optimization of our carbon capture process. The ideal candidate will have expertise in reaction engineering, multi-phase fluid modeling, and chemical process design. You will play a crucial role in accelerating technology development and Parallel Carbon's impact.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the research, design, and commissioning of carbon capture and mineral handling processes
- Plan and oversee the scale-up of equipment from lab scale to pilot and commercial scales
- Apply expertise in engineering to enhance the efficiency and productivity of all chemical processes
- Analyze process kinetics for various environmental conditions and processing parameters
- Model and understand the interaction between airflow and water evaporation to determine optimal humidity levels
- Simulate various chemical reactions and processes to evaluate performance and feasibility
- Conduct experiments to validate reaction chemistry and process design
- Design and oversee the selection, sourcing, construction, installation, and operation of equipment
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to troubleshoot and develop innovative solutions
- Perform data analysis and interpretation to identify trends and patterns in process parameters
- Prepare technical reports and presentations to communicate results and progress
- Degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in an industrial research setting, developing and optimizing processes
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a pilot plant, manufacturing environment, or other industrial setting
- Previous industry experience in cement or concrete, paints and coatings, minerals and mining, pharmaceutical production, food processing, or a related field
- Knowledge of chemical reaction engineering, thermodynamics, and process control
- Strong understanding of process design methodologies and flow diagrams
- Ability to develop safe and economical processes for multiphase material handling and separation
