About the Role

Gattaca Projects, a leading Engineering and Technology consultancy, is seeking a highly skilled Lead Mechanical Engineer to join their team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for managing a team of multidisciplinary engineers to deliver projects to high-quality standards.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering and excellent leadership skills. They will be responsible for planning and managing mechanical engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and company standards.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Project Management: Lead a team of engineers to deliver projects on time and to budget.
  2. Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and support to the team, ensuring that projects are delivered to the highest quality standards.
  3. Stakeholder Management: Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that project expectations are met and outcomes are achieved.
  4. Compliance: Ensure that all projects are delivered in compliance with industry regulations and company standards.
  5. Technical Expertise: Develop and implement engineering solutions to meet project requirements.
  6. Project Monitoring: Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions.
  7. Quality Assurance: Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure quality and compliance.
  8. Documentation: Prepare project documentation, reports, and progress updates.
  9. Review and Approval: Review and approve project documentation.
  10. Technical Reviews: Lead technical reviews with internal and external stakeholders.
  11. Risk Management: Work with the project management team to identify and manage risks at an early stage.
Requirements
  1. Education: Master's degree level qualification in mechanical engineering or similar degree.
  2. Experience: Minimum of 5 years' experience in mechanical engineering within a project lifecycle environment.
  3. Professional Qualifications: CEng status preferred.
  4. Skills: Excellent IT skills, strong communication skills, and ability to work with multiple stakeholders.
  5. Security Clearance: Due to security restrictions, this role is only open to UK nationals able to obtain security clearance.
