We are seeking an experienced Counselling Tutor to join our team at Supporting Education Group. As a Counselling Tutor, you will be responsible for delivering AEB remote courses in mental health awareness, counselling, and other related subjects.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain accurate learner records and ensure all evidence is readily available for audit and quality purposes.
- Implement improvements identified through performance reviews and internal quality assurance.
- Develop and maintain professional knowledge, skills, and experience through formal training, CPD, and networking.
- Ensure Maths and English are embedded into delivery as required or delivered standalone as needed.
- Coach and collaborate with learners to ensure they remain engaged and progressing well.
- Plan lessons effectively and differentiate activities towards individual learners.
- Monitor learner progression and ensure all teaching, learning, and assessment is completed to meet qualification criteria.
- Train, assess, motivate, mentor, and support learners to develop personal and social skills.
- Participate in standardisation and team meetings, and undertake continuing professional development as required.
- Deliver outstanding teaching, learning, and assessment to learners.
- Level 2 functional skills in Maths, English, and ICT.
- Level 3 award in assessing, vocationally related achievement, or equivalent.
- PTLLS, AET, or DET qualification.
- Desirable: Level 4 award in quality assurance of assessment process and practice, or equivalent; ENTO HSS8 health and safety award, or equivalent.
- Proven experience in online and classroom-based learning, teaching, and assessment.
- Track record of delivering funded employability programs, including accredited and non-accredited qualifications.
- Record of working with unemployed people on programs that facilitate positive outcomes.
- History of working with people with complex barriers to progression.
- Experience of internal quality assurance and knowledge of awarding body requirements.
- Proficient IT skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to plan and organise own caseload and diary unsupervised.
- Able to meet and exceed retention and achievement targets for qualifications and progression.
- 28 days holiday, plus an extra day for each year of service, up to a maximum of 33 days, plus bank holidays.
