Job Summary

Carrington West is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Town Planner to join their Oxford office. As a key member of the team, you will play a pivotal role in leading planning projects, providing strategic advice, and fostering strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a variety of planning projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results.
  • Provide expert advice on planning policies, regulations, and procedures, staying up-to-date with the latest developments in the field.
  • Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies, and environmental impact assessments to inform project decisions.
  • Liaise with clients, local authorities, and stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met, building strong relationships and resolving conflicts effectively.
  • Mentor and support junior members of the planning team, promoting knowledge sharing and professional development.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in town planning, with a strong track record of delivering projects and achieving results.
  • Experience in the private sector is preferred, but candidates with public sector experience will also be considered.
  • Ideal candidate will be chartered with the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) or have equivalent qualifications.
  • Strong knowledge of UK planning legislation, policies, and procedures, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical context.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and project management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
