SGS is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Welding Manager to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for managing the welding department and ensuring the highest levels of customer service and quality.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage the welding department and ensure the efficient operation of welding activities.
- Develop and implement quality procedures and standards to ensure compliance with ISO 17020 and ISO 17025 accreditation.
- Lead the team in providing high levels of customer service and ensuring contractual requirements are met.
- Contribute to the development and achievement of sales through the direct sales channel to key account clients.
- Act as the key interface between SGS and welding clients, ensuring effective communication and relationship management.
- Monitor and supervise the workload of the welding team, ensuring even distribution of work and prioritization of tasks.
- Undertake technical training of weld department staff and encourage team members to achieve their personal and team objectives.
- Ensure equipment is properly maintained, safety checks and calibrations are completed on time, and financial records are accurately maintained.
- Identify and implement improvements in current working practices to improve operating efficiencies and customer service.
- HNC and/or formal qualification in welding technology.
- CSWIP Level 3.2 (SWI) certification.
- Experience in financial accounts and managing key clients.
- Relationship management and welding invigilation personnel.
- Production of certification relating to welder qualification.
