We are seeking an experienced Senior Procurement Manager to join our team at NHS South Central and West Commissioning Support Unit. As a key member of our National Commercial & Procurement Hub, you will play a critical role in driving the delivery of commercial development in primary care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a procurement team in the delivery of commercial programmes of work, ensuring timely and cost-effective solutions.
  • Provide expert procurement and commercial technical advice, assistance, and guidance to team and customers, fostering strong relationships and trust.
  • Develop and actively manage procurement plans that support resource scheduling, management, and reporting, utilizing data-driven insights to inform decision-making.
  • Work closely with NHS England, Department of Health and Social Care, and the NHS to deliver complex procurements, navigating regulatory requirements and stakeholder expectations.

Person Specification
  • Essential
    • Postgraduate qualification in a relevant field or equivalent experience, demonstrating a strong foundation in procurement principles and practices.
    • Formal CIPS membership or level 4 NVQ in procurement, showcasing expertise and commitment to the field.
    • Experience of managing and motivating a team, with a proven track record of leadership and collaboration.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and communicate complex ideas effectively.
  • Desirable
    • Member of a relevant professional body, demonstrating a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
