About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Lead to join our Data Engineering team at Quantexa. As a Technical Lead, you will be responsible for leading and mentoring a team of junior data engineers, driving the development of high-quality data processing systems, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver complex big data solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor a team of junior data engineers in an agile framework
  • Design and develop defensive, fault-tolerant, and efficient code for production-level data processing systems
  • Configure and deploy Quantexa's software using tools such as Spark, Hadoop, Scala, Elasticsearch, and cloud platforms like Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, and Amazon
  • Articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, providing guidance on complex technical decisions
  • Collaborate with solution architects and R&D engineers to champion solutions and standards for complex big data challenges
Requirements
  • At least 5 years of industry experience in a data engineering role or equivalent, with at least 18 months of experience in a lead role
  • Proficiency in Scala, Java, Python, or a programming language associated with data engineering
  • Expertise in building and deploying production-level data processing batch systems, with a strong understanding of high-quality, operationally stable systems
  • Experience with modern development tooling, automation, and DevOps technologies
  • Strong technical communication skills, with experience working in rapidly changing client environments
