This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team and contribute to the development and implementation of policy and public affairs strategies that make a significant impact on the lives of people seeking advice and the communities served by AdviceUK's members.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support policy and public affairs activities to ensure AdviceUK's voice is heard at a national and regional level across England, Scotland, and Wales.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to inform policy efforts, develop policy materials, and monitor political and regulatory developments.
  • Maintain stakeholder engagement, manage parliamentary contacts, and align stakeholder mapping with policy objectives.
  • Create compelling stories for media, manage media communications, and build relationships with journalists.
  • Provide data analysis to support decision-making, maintain data accuracy, and ensure alignment with KPIs through quality reporting.
Requirements:
  • At least two years' experience working in policy and public affairs.
  • Excellent knowledge of local and national government structures, the UK and devolved parliaments within a policy context.
  • Experience of political and media mapping, working within the Parliamentary/Whitehall landscape, and 1:1 briefing of MPs, civil servants, and the media.
  • Strong communication skills, excellent analytical and decision-making skills, and the ability to translate data and evidence into actionable insights.
  • Strong organisational skills, the ability to prioritise workload and competing demands, and experience of using video content to communicate policy objectives and public affairs work.
