Job Summary

Sellick Partnership is seeking a highly skilled Childcare Lawyer to join a local authority in Yorkshire on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a litigation/advocacy professional looking to transition into childcare law.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a caseload of care cases and pre-proceedings, advising clients on child protection, care proceedings, special guardianship, private law proceedings, fostering legislation, and adoption law. They will also attend legal planning, PLO, and Gateway meetings, prepare for hearings, and conduct advocacy in the Family Court.

Key Responsibilities

  • Holding a caseload of care cases and pre-proceedings
  • Advising clients on child protection, care proceedings, special guardianship, private law proceedings, fostering legislation, and adoption law
  • Attending legal planning, PLO, and Gateway meetings
  • Preparing for hearings and conducting advocacy in the Family Court
  • Drafting threshold documents
