Job Description

As a leading provider of innovative solutions, ZipRecruiter is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our Building Consultancy team in Leeds. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional to work on a diverse range of projects with blue-chip developers in a dynamic and vibrant team.

We are looking for an Electrical Design Engineer who is passionate about delivering high-quality designs and solutions that meet the needs of our clients. The successful candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, with experience in designing and managing electrical systems for new build and refurbishment construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out detailed electrical building services design engineering on new build and refurbishment construction projects.
  • Assist senior staff in feasibility studies, concept and scheme design stages.
  • Attend design team meetings and collaborate with other staff members.
  • Inspect and report on electrical building services systems.
  • Utilize building services software for calculations.
  • Undertake electrical design work consisting of surveys, design, drawings and specifications for projects.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in electrical engineering and experience commensurate with the underpinning and knowledge requirements for incorporated engineer aligned to either IET or CIBSE requirements. They will also have a strong understanding of building regulations and health and safety requirements.

Requirements
  • Strong background in electrical engineering.
  • Experience in designing and managing electrical systems for new build and refurbishment construction projects.
  • Ability to design principle electrical systems from concept to detailed design.
  • Knowledge of building regulations and health and safety requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
