Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Support Worker to join our team at Derbyshire County Council. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing information, advice, and support to children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities, and their parents/carers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide effective communication and support to parents/carers and their children/young people in discussions and negotiations with schools, colleges, and SEN practitioners.
  • Work on the service advice line, responding to queries and providing guidance on special educational needs and disabilities.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with schools, colleges, and other stakeholders to ensure effective support for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities.
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures to provide informed advice and support.

Requirements

  • Experience working in special educational needs or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
