About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Residential Child Care Worker to join our team at Ramsden Hall Academy, a residential special school for boys aged 10 to 16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs.

As a key member of our residential team, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and supportive environment for our students, promoting their physical and emotional well-being, and helping them develop positive relationships with their peers and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support students with their daily routines, including meal times, activities, and bedtime routines.
  • Encourage students to participate in physical activities, such as sports and games, to promote their physical and emotional well-being.
  • Assist students with their school work and provide additional support as needed.
  • Participate in the general supervision of students and ensure their safety and well-being at all times.
  • Collaborate with the residential team to plan and deliver activities that promote the students' social, emotional, and educational development.
Requirements
  • Proven experience of working with children and young people with SEMH needs.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and use your own initiative in a fast-paced environment.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Child/Young Persons Care or equivalent is strongly desirable.
  • Driving licence qualifications to drive a D1 mini bus is desirable.
  • Ability to manage confidential data in a professional and sensitive way.
  • Adaptable and flexible to changing circumstances.
