We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Breast Surgeon to join our team at the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust.
Key Responsibilities- To provide high-quality Consultant Breast services, including outpatient clinics and theatre lists, to support the symptomatic, screening, and reconstruction Breast Service in Leicester.
- To provide prospective 1 in 8 on-call cover for Breast emergencies only.
- To ensure the provision of excellent standards of practice and care, as prescribed in the GMC's Good Medical Practice and the RCS England's Good Surgical Practice guidance at all times.
- To ensure that specialist clinical practice is both effective and efficient, and that appropriate monitoring of clinical care takes place by actively participating in audit.
- To provide continuing responsibility for the care of patients in their charge, and for the proper organisation and functioning of their clinical practice.
- To support and take joint responsibility for the clinical work of other members of the multidisciplinary team.
- To supervise and teach undergraduates and postgraduate trainees and healthcare workers that rotate through the department.
- To take responsibility for ensuring that critical clinical incidents, as defined by the Trust's Critical Incident Policy, are reported in a timely manner.
- To work co-operatively with other specialties, departments, and outside agencies in contributing to meet the objectives of the Clinical Management Group (CMG).
