About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Building Surveyor to join our team at MSV Housing Group. As a Building Surveyor, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality and safety of our customers' homes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Expertise: Provide technical expertise in relation to building defects and complex issues, determining appropriate remedial action as a long-term resolution.
  • Defect Analysis: Contribute to the analysis of building defects to identify trends as part of a proactive, planned preventative maintenance approach.
  • Programme Development: Develop programmes of work to resolve issues prior to them affecting the quality of our customers' homes.
  • Project Management: Ensure the effective management of programmes of work, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required standards.
  • Technical Support: Provide efficient and effective technical expertise, contract management, planning, and liaison with relevant parties.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Possession of a qualification such as BSc Hons Building Surveying/HNC Building Studies and/or other recognised building or professional qualification.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of sector-related Health and Safety and statutory compliance, including HHSRS.
  • Experience: Experience in a building surveying role across various property types and in a social housing environment.
  • Legislation: To be conversant with current legislation, statutory requirements, and respective responsibilities of landlord and tenant (specifically Housing Acts, Public Health Acts, Defective Premises Act).
  • Customer Focus: Demonstrate a positive attitude and an excellent customer focus to contribute to great customer service.
