Senior Controls Engineer - Siemens TIA Portal Expert

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Controls Engineer with expertise in Siemens TIA Portal to join our team at Samuel Frank. The successful candidate will be responsible for system configuration, including PLC code and WinCC SCADA configurations, to meet project requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Expert level Siemens TIA Portal / WinCC knowledge
  • Responsible for the production of project documentation, including Functional Design Specifications, Project Specific Drawings, Design Risk Assessments, Test Procedures, Operator / Maintenance manuals, and Training manuals
  • Experience with PLC communications, including PROFIBUS, Industrial Ethernet, Profinet, or ModBus
  • Ability to achieve basic level security clearance, including a British passport and clear criminal record
Requirements:
  • Qualified to at least HNC level in a related subject area/course
  • At least 8-10 years of experience with Siemens PLCs and SCADA systems
  • Experience of working with all aspects of the project lifecycle, from specification to commissioning and final project documentation

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Siemens TIA Portal and WinCC, as well as experience working on site, commissioning PLC / PC systems, and software, electrical systems, and associated equipment. The role will involve occasional international travel, and the successful candidate will be split between working in the office and on site, with 70/30 split and 80% of site work based in the UK.
