Key Responsibilities:
  • Field-based sales role, promoting a variety of epoxy resins and fillers for wood restoration
Responsibilities include:
* 40% of your time dedicated to securing specifications primarily with quantity surveyors, architects, and other specifiers within local government, heritage organizations, and property management firms
* 30% focused on generating demand for products with main contractors and specialized joinery and timber subcontractors
* 20% managing relationships with paint manufacturers, conducting project visits, and handling all related administrative tasks
* 10% maintaining relationships with approximately 50 painting & decorating suppliers (quarterly visits only)

  • Initially, the role will involve 70% new business development and 30% account management, transitioning to 80% account management as projects are secured
  • Collaborating in a "buddy system" with a Technical Account Executive responsible for site inspections, surveys, and customer training
  • Managing projects with values up to £30,000, with an average order value of around £10,000-£20,000
Ideal Candidate Profile:
  • Proven field sales experience within the building materials or construction sector (preferably 2+ years)
  • Experience selling to contractors and/or specifiers, with a solid understanding of the specification sales process
  • Familiarity with related products such as resins, fillers, grouts, adhesives, coatings, paints, or other timber/joinery-related products
  • Established connections with quantity surveyors, architects, local government bodies, heritage organizations, or property management firms
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with main contractors or subcontractors in the joinery/timber sector
