Laboratory Technician

AWE is seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Technician to join our Radiation Science Group within our Physics sub-function. As a Laboratory Technician, you will play a critical role in supporting the management of risk assessments, COSHH assessments, and general laboratory administration.
Key Responsibilities- Undertake specialist laboratory science support activities.
- Proactively ensure laboratory capabilities are maintained as appropriate and available for use, as scheduled.
- Ensure documentation for laboratory processes and hardware is maintained.
- Prepare new documentation as required/appropriate for laboratory activities.
- May be required to perform safety-related roles, as required, including but not limited to: Competent, Nominated or Authorised Person Electrical; COSHH Assessor; Manual Handling Assessor.
- Significant experience as a laboratory technician.
- Knowledge of basic laboratory equipment (oscilloscopes, multi-meters, data acquisition systems).
- Knowledge of laboratory processes and administration.
- The following may enhance your application, but are not essential:
- Experience with electronic circuit assembly and electrical cable assembly for bespoke applications.
- Experience with fibre optic components and fibre optic assembly.
- Maths/Physics/Engineering Level 2 or higher national qualification.
