Job Summary
Seismic Recruitment is seeking an experienced Automotive Engine Test Engineer to join our team. As an Automotive Engine Test Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering engineering objectives, generating engine installation packs, and identifying engine/test delivery faults.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engineering objectives set by senior engineers or engineering managers.
- Generate engine installation packs and schematics for accurate test bed setups.
- Identify engine/test delivery faults and collaborate with others to find effective solutions.
- Process and validate engine test data.
- Analyze engine data and understand correct trends and causes for concern.
- Support colleagues as required to achieve wider goals.
- Track project efficiency and maintain project-related invoicing.
- Devise and lead initiatives to reduce waste and optimize efficiency.
- Participate in regular customer update meetings.
Requirements
- Automotive/Mechanical Engineering HND, Degree, or relevant experience of testbed operation.
- Experience in an automotive engineering discipline.
- Test bed experience in an automotive testing environment.
- Excellent understanding of gasoline and diesel engine mechanical fundamentals.
- Instrumentation experience (thermocouples, pressure transducers, etc.).
- Able to create test automation procedures/schedules with a view to maximize automated running.
- Working closely with customer engineering teams to establish and carry out test programs.
- Experience of a wide variety of engine types would be advantageous (Petrol, Diesel, High Performance, Heavy Duty, Alternative Fuels).
