Job Summary: Radius is seeking a talented Commissioning Engineer to join our team in London. As a Commissioning Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our datacentre organisation.

About the Role:

We are looking for a highly skilled Commissioning Engineer to join our Engineering team. As a Commissioning Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Planning, scripting, scheduling, coordinating, monitoring, and tracking tests to verify that engineering system installations, upgrades, and replacements are operating as intended/specified.
  • Advising the Engineering team on any matters not performing as intended/specified and coordinating on resolution.
  • Reviewing designs produced for new engineering installations and identifying requirements to support the testing, commissioning, operation, and monitoring of systems that should be factored into the system designs.
  • Acting as a Subject Matter Expert to external Commissioning teams.
  • Troubleshooting issues with day-to-day system operation and performance and providing expert commissioning advice in relation to root cause, further tests, system modifications, final tests, and validation.
  • Reviewing the operation of systems for the optimisation of energy efficiency and supporting the scoping of tests and additional works to facilitate energy-efficient solutions.
  • Communicating and coordinating with project stakeholders, customers, consultants, and suppliers. Maintaining teamwork.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting the development of a project design brief to incorporate matters related to testing and commissioning from the outset.

• Supporting the selection of an external commissioning engineer subject to project scale and complexity.

• Responding to design RFI's that relate to testing and commissioning.

Factory Acceptance Tests:

• Reviewing that Contractor Technical Submittals for plant selections incorporate necessary requirements for testing and commission.

• Developing a library of test scripts for Factory Acceptance Tests in conjunction with the Engineering team.

• Attending and actively participating in Factory Acceptance Tests as a Subject Matter Expert. Monitoring that test scripts are fully completed, and any issues recorded for factory or site modifications.

Construction:

• Responding to Contractor RFI's that relate to testing and commissioning.

• Periodically inspecting the works to monitor that test and monitoring points have been incorporated and that safe accessibility has been maintained.

Commissioning:

• Instigating a commissioning meeting in a timely manner with appropriate attendances and any project.

• Monitoring and commenting on the Contractors production of a final testing and commissioning plan and commenting as required.
