About Your New Role

We are seeking an experienced Associate or Principal Associate with a strong background in professional indemnity law, particularly in the construction sector. The successful candidate will join our Specialty team, which handles a wide range of complex and challenging cases, including defending claims against professional service providers, insurance policy coverage, and construction disputes.

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage cases with limited supervision, demonstrating strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Assist partners with their caseloads, providing expert advice and guidance
  • Prepare detailed reports, correspondence, and court documents, showcasing excellent writing and communication skills
  • Advise clients on liability and coverage issues, providing a commercial and solution-driven approach
  • Liaise with insurers, clients, experts, witnesses, counsel, and other parties, demonstrating strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Ensure compliance with client service level agreements, relevant policies, and procedures
  • Support business development initiatives, contributing to the growth and success of the team
  • Complete management information, providing valuable insights and analysis
  • Develop and delegate tasks to junior team members, fostering a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing

About You

  • At least 5 years' PQE or equivalent experience in professional indemnity law, with a focus on construction
  • Expertise in insurance litigation, policy coverage analysis, and professional risk claims
  • Strong understanding of commercial insurance policies, the insurance market, and reporting arrangements
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and manage a caseload effectively
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
  • Commercial, solution-driven, and client-focused approach
  • Strong legal and analytical skills, with attention to detail
  • Excellent organization and time-management skills
