Role Overview

The Global Supply Chain Leader will spearhead and refine our international procurement operations to effectively support a burgeoning aerospace manufacturing facility.

This role encompasses the management of all lifecycle stages, from the development and launch of new products to addressing the daily requirements of the assembly line.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the position will engage with cross-functional teams at all levels within Mirus Aircraft Seating, interacting with senior peers while also mentoring and guiding developing team members.

Overseeing a growing team of approximately 15 individuals, the Directorate includes Purchasing, Material Planning, Logistics, and Supplier Quality Assurance.

The role will also involve close collaboration with external partners, including suppliers and regulatory authorities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct and manage a global Supply Chain service to establish an effective and commercially driven department that propels the business forward.
  • Formulate and execute a procurement strategy aligned with the current and future needs of the organization.
  • Actively support frontline staff and their well-being, fostering relationships between Supply Chain and other business functions.
  • Lead supplier engagement initiatives; negotiate contracts, cultivate relationships, and oversee the integration of new suppliers into the organization, ensuring a balance between quality, cost, and delivery while establishing a sustainable supplier performance framework to support growth objectives.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the availability and quality of component parts, aiming to reduce work-in-progress, increase efficiencies, and ensure finished goods are readily available to meet rising demand, with a focus on inventory control and working capital management.
  • Develop robust systems to manage stock levels, mitigating product supply risks through thorough analysis of sales, operations, and financial requirements.
  • Create and implement Supply Chain policies, processes, and procedures to ensure best practices, efficient workflows, and effective performance reporting.
  • Provide guidance and oversight for both international and local import procedures and processes.
  • Identify and manage departmental risks proactively to prevent any negative impact on timely customer delivery.
  • Ensure the maintenance of the MRP system, guaranteeing the accuracy of all data points within our ERP solution.
Candidate Profile

To support Mirus in its growth trajectory, candidates should possess demonstrable expertise as a Supply Chain/Purchasing/Procurement Director within a growth-oriented environment, along with the following qualifications and attributes:

  • Extensive experience in leading and managing a global supply chain team within a growth-focused manufacturing context throughout the entire product lifecycle.
  • Previous involvement in an Executive Team/Board level leadership capacity, with the ability to contribute meaningfully to strategic business discussions.
  • Proven leadership and management capabilities, with a talent for coaching, nurturing, and developing team members.
  • Strong understanding of legal frameworks, particularly contract law, and comfort with contract negotiations.
  • Familiarity with ERP and MRP ordering systems.
  • Experience in international logistics, including global import/export practices.
  • Degree qualified with relevant professional qualifications/accreditations.

Regular international travel will be a requirement for this position, and candidates must hold a current passport and be willing to undertake both short and long-haul travel as necessary.


Desirable Attributes:
  • Recent experience in a similar role within the aviation sector, particularly in aircraft seating/interiors or OEM automotive manufacturing.
  • Previous experience in a consolidation center within the supply chain.
  • Membership in the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply.
