Mammography Radiographer
Position Overview
We are seeking dedicated Mammography Radiographers for both full-time and part-time roles.
Band 5/6 (dependent on qualifications and experience)
Join our dynamic team within the Swansea Division of Breast Test Wales.
Breast Test Wales is responsible for the planning, management, and evaluation of the NHS Breast Screening Programme across Wales. Our Swansea region employs a diverse team of 26 professionals, including Advanced Practitioners, Radiographers, and Assistant Practitioners.
We invite applications from both seasoned professionals and newly qualified Radiographers interested in advancing their careers in breast screening. Experienced candidates will be appointed at their current pay scale, while newly qualified Radiographers will begin at Band 5. Our facilities include a static screening suite and assessment clinic, along with three Mobile Screening Units that deliver local services throughout the region.
Key Responsibilities
As a Mammography Radiographer, you will be expected to pursue or already hold a postgraduate MSc module in Mammography. This role will require travel to mobile units, with occasional overnight stays. Newly qualified Radiographers must complete at least 12 months of service before commencing the postgraduate module, with a subsequent upgrade to Band 6 upon successful completion. Participation in weekend shifts may also be necessary to meet service demands.
Our organization actively supports advanced practice, providing established pathways for Radiographers to progress to Advanced Practitioners or Consultant Radiographers based on service needs.
This position is exempt under the Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, Part 1, Paragraph 1, and due to the nature of the role, only female applicants are eligible. Proficiency in Welsh is desirable, but applications from both Welsh and English speakers are encouraged.
