Permanent Role – Class 1 Driver

We are seeking a skilled Class 1 driver to join our busy transport team at our Hemel Hempstead depot.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver caged or palletised goods to RDC's or stores in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Ensure paperwork is signed and any agreed waste or cages are collected and returned.
  • Adhere to safe working practices to ensure the safety of yourself and others at all times.
  • Secure loads of the trailer to ensure products are safely secured and minimize the chance of damage.
  • Provide excellent customer service at all times and take ownership of customer issues on delivery.
  • Carry out multi-drop deliveries within the delivery window in a safe manner.
  • Be aware of vehicle defects and bring them to the attention of the Transport Office as necessary.
  • Attend essential training to carry out the Driver role.
  • Provide support in the Yard as required by the Transport Office.
  • Adhere to driving legislation and professional competence standards.
Requirements:
  • Must hold a valid HGV Class 1 licence.
  • Must hold a valid Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (DCPC Card).
  • Must hold a Digital Tachograph card.
  • Must not have more than 6 points on your licence.
  • Must have recent 2 years Class 1 driving experience.
  • Must have excellent customer service skills.
  • Previous retail and commercial driving experience is desirable.
