Job Description

Job Title: Interim Bakery Factory Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Interim Bakery Factory Manager to lead our factory operation in a safe and technically compliant manner, delivering against our Vision, Business Strategy, Financial targets and Customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure a Safe Working Environment: Maintain a safe working environment for all employees in their operation, meeting the standards set out in the Group Health & Safety policy.
  • Quality and Food Safety: Ensure standards of quality, food safety, hygiene, and housekeeping within their factory operation, appropriate to a quality food manufacturer.
  • Manufacturing Strategy: Translate the manufacturing strategy into a 'living' Factory Operational Plan, clearly understood and owned by their team.
  • NPD Process: Manage the NPD process within their factory operation, ensuring successful trials and product launches.
  • Training and Development: Own training and development, and performance management of individuals within their factory operation, enabling progression and resource growth.
  • Performance Improvement: Utilize agreed KPIs as a basis for Performance Improvement Plans, cascading these through the Factory Operational Team.
  • Culture and Change: Support and develop a culture where individuals feel able to challenge the status quo, encouraging feedback and implementing change processes in line with Bakkavor values.
  • Operational Improvement: Proactively look at ways to improve their factory operation, delivering agreed factory capital expenditure plans within the agreed factory budget.

Requirements:

  • 'Sheet and Cut' experience is preferred.
  • Previous experience working in a Bakery Production Environment is essential.
  • Previous 'Pizza Dough' or 'Bread' experience.
  • Excellent people skills.
  • Proactive Manager with strong organisational skills.
