Key Responsibilities
  • Health Surveillance Coordination

As the primary contact for operational teams, you will coordinate with departments to schedule and oversee health surveillance programs that enhance occupational health services.

Occupational Health Case Management

You will manage outcomes from occupational health surveillance in collaboration with the HR team, consult with OH physicians/nurses as needed, advise managers on outcomes and restrictions, and oversee the implementation and closure of cases.

Health and Safety Data Analysis

You will provide the Health and Safety Manager with key management information, including accident trends, reportable incidents/illnesses to HSE, training attendance, and other relevant data.

Health and Safety Policy Interpretation

You will interpret health and safety policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure a consistent approach across the business.

Collaboration and Communication

You will work closely with health and safety colleagues embedded in services to share information and maintain a unified approach.

Project Support

You will assist in various projects by applying health and safety skills both individually and as part of a team.

Health and Safety Support

You will support the Health and Safety Manager with tasks such as prioritizing occupational health, handling referrals, managing health and safety contracts, reviewing SOPs, and conducting risk assessments.

Research and Analysis

You will conduct research and analysis to develop effective proposals and solutions, and report on these findings to the Health and Safety Manager.

Culture Promotion

You will promote and drive the company's health and safety culture.

Requirements
  • Education

Educated to at least a higher level or equivalent.

Experience

Experience working in an occupational health environment.

Professional Qualifications

Professional experience in a health and safety setting.

Certifications

IOSH Managing Safely certification.

Skills

Knowledgeable and confident in advising on health and safety issues.

Communication

Capable of presenting issues clearly and concisely, with strong influencing skills.

Interpersonal

Well-developed communication and interpersonal abilities.

Organizational

Effective in high-pressure situations.

Adaptability

Strong organizational skills.

Conflict Resolution

Able to handle conflict situations effectively.

Reliability

Capable of responding calmly to unexpected demands and maintaining high standards.

Language

Proficient in both spoken and written English.

Desirable Qualifications

NEBOSH General Certificate is desirable.

Desirable Skills

Knowledge of RIDDOR/accident reporting is desirable.
