Key Responsibilities- Provide Mechanical Engineering Support: Offer technical expertise to various departments, including Operations, Maintenance, Projects, Metering, and Integrity.
- Operational Shutdowns and Outages: Provide engineering guidance and support during operational shutdowns and outages to ensure minimal unplanned intervention.
- Equipment Performance Improvement: Help eliminate mechanically-related production losses by measuring equipment performance, identifying improvement opportunities, planning, risk-assessing, and implementing cost-beneficial improvement initiatives.
- Maintenance Strategy and Policies: Help deliver the maintenance strategy and policies, prescribing equipment-specific routines and procedures.
- Maintenance Requirements and Effectiveness: Monitor maintenance requirements and effectiveness, and help minimize both mechanical maintenance backlogs and interventions through regular review processes.
- Equipment Procurement: Specify, cost-analyze, and procure replacement equipment in a timely manner, ensuring specifications and legislative requirements are met.
- Documentation and Assurance: Complete required documentation and assurance systems, such as work planning, Change Management applications, equipment and documentation databases, and report publication.
- Cost Management: Manage costs by controlling spends with third-party vendors and promote a 'cost-challenge' culture to secure value and cost-effectiveness from suppliers and contractors.
- Technical Training and Guidance: Provide technical training and guidance to Technicians and new recruits.
The successful candidate will have a fundamental knowledge requirement for Mechanical Engineers supporting the performance testing, assurance, maintenance, and failure analysis of actuated and non-actuated valves.
- Accumulator/Pulsation Damper
- CompEx Ex11 Mechanical Competence or equivalent Hydraulic Awareness
- HVAC equipment and systems
- Qualifications: Ideally Engineering degree-qualified or HNC/HND with at least 8-10 years' experience in the oil and gas offshore industry or other highly regulated industries.
- Operational Knowledge: Detailed operational knowledge of oil and gas industry mechanical equipment and a sound knowledge of engineering, maintenance, and planning.
- Guidance and Support: Able to give timely guidance to management on the history and health of equipment, predicting, planning, and budgeting for major costs and outages.
- Team Player: Diligent, hard-working, team player able to solicit help and co-operation from junior and senior colleagues, impartial and supportive of change.
- Specifying Equipment: Understanding of specifying equipment for use in hazardous areas.
- Management of Change: Understanding of Management of Change processes and its importance within an organization.
