Senior Tax Policy Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Tax Policy Specialist to join our team at HM Revenue and Customs. As a key member of our international tax team, you will play a critical role in shaping our tax policies and ensuring compliance with international tax laws.
About the RoleThe Senior Tax Policy Specialist will be responsible for leading on risk assessment and enquiry work, working with complex customers, and providing technical leadership to a team of experienced International Tax Specialists and Corporation Tax Specialists. You will also contribute to the development of innovative solutions and influence policy to strengthen HMRC's efforts to close the tax gap.
Key Responsibilities- Lead on risk assessment and enquiry work, working with complex customers to ensure compliance with international tax laws.
- Provide technical leadership to a team of experienced International Tax Specialists and Corporation Tax Specialists, focusing on building their capabilities through mentoring, training, and knowledge sharing.
- Contribute to the development of innovative solutions to complex tax issues, working closely with cross-tax regime technical specialists, policy, economists, and accountants.
- Influence policy to strengthen HMRC's efforts to close the tax gap, working closely with senior stakeholders.
- Significant recent experience in wider International Tax work in respect of multinationals in HMRC, industry, or in practice.
- Excellent understanding of international tax and OECD Frameworks.
- Proven ability to successfully manage and lead complex enquiries or projects end-to-end.
