About This Opportunity

Central London Community Healthcare Academy, in partnership with the University of East London, is offering an exciting four-year apprenticeship program leading to Podiatry registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). This unique opportunity allows you to gain a nationally recognized qualification while receiving on-the-job training from our highly skilled clinicians.

Program Overview

As a Podiatry Apprentice, you will work towards completing a BSc Degree in Podiatry over four years. This developmental role provides hands-on experience and academic learning, preparing you for a rewarding career in podiatry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care to individuals with various foot and ankle conditions.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments, diagnose problems, and develop treatment plans.
  • Perform a range of podiatric procedures, including nail trimming, callus removal, and wound care.
  • Educate patients on foot health and preventative measures.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Academic Component

The program includes modules in:

  • Professional Practice and Mental Health
  • Anatomy and Physiology
  • Podiatric Practice, Pathology, and Pharmacology
  • Musculoskeletal (MSK) Assessment and Management
  • Clinical Reasoning and Research Methods

Eligibility Requirements

To be considered for this program, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Be over 18 years of age.
  • Possess UK Maths and English Level 2 or GCSE Grade C/4 with original certificates.
  • Have successfully completed a Level 3 qualification equivalent to a minimum of 120 UCAS points, including a science subject.
  • Not be currently enrolled in any other apprenticeship or DfE FE/HE program.
  • Have lived in the UK for at least three years prior to application.
