Key Responsibilities

We seek a talented, innovative journalist who is organized, detail-oriented, and possesses strong editorial judgment. Familiarity with the BBC Radio Tees audience and an understanding of their evolving needs are crucial, as is a commitment to producing high-quality content across all platforms.

Ability to narrate our stories across radio, television, online, and digital mediums. Generate original story concepts and develop creative treatments while conducting thorough background research. May involve shifts requiring news reading capabilities. Experience in responding to breaking news with the capacity to distill complex issues clearly and calmly under pressure. Comfortable reporting live from a studio or at external events. Collaborate with colleagues across BBC News and other divisions, maintaining high standards of writing, accuracy, impartiality, and adherence to BBC Editorial values and legal requirements. Our audience engages with us seven days a week, necessitating availability for weekend shifts or early starts.
