About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to lead projects and develop innovative new products within our non-lethal training ammunition company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design Leadership: Take a leading role in the conceptualization, design, and development of new products, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and performance.
  • Project Management: Oversee project timelines and resources, ensuring timely and successful project completion, and maintaining effective communication with cross-functional teams.
  • Documentation and Compliance: Maintain and update project documents, including detailed drawings, spare parts lists, and technical specifications, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Tooling Development: Design and develop tooling using workshop-based machinery, ensuring high precision and quality, and optimizing production processes.
  • Product Testing and Validation: Develop and implement robust methods for testing product performance and reliability, and conduct thorough data analysis and evaluation to enhance design performance.
Requirements
  • 3D CAD Proficiency: Strong experience with 3D CAD software, particularly SOLIDWORKS, for designing and modeling.
  • Educational Background: A university degree in Mechanical Engineering or Product Design, or equivalent practical experience in a similar role.
  • Software Knowledge: Competence in using Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Creative Suite for various design and documentation tasks.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrated ability to solve complex engineering problems and think creatively in the design process.
  • Attention to Detail: High attention to detail to ensure accuracy and quality in design and documentation.
  • Team Collaboration: Strong team player with excellent communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
