Job Title: Financial Controller

At Halliday Marx, we are seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to join our team in London. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a crucial role in leading the business partnering process with key budget stakeholders, managing the monthly reporting, and delivering the Europe Corporate financial results in accordance with the group timetable.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the business partnering process with key budget stakeholders to drive financial performance and growth.
  • Manage the monthly reporting and deliver the Europe Corporate financial results in accordance with the group timetable.
  • Oversee the European Corporate Finance team based in London, focusing on development, performance, and efficiency.
  • Establish and implement financial processes and support a culture of continuous improvements.
  • Lead the annual audit process for all corporate entities and ensure all implemented controls and processes adhere to appropriate accounting principles.
  • Prepare timely statutory financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
  • Manage applicable tax filings.
  • Establish policies and procedures in conjunction with the Senior Corporate Finance Director.
  • Work closely with the FP&A Controller during the annual business plan and reforecast cycles.
Requirements:
  • High level of general education with excellent written and numerical skills.
  • ACA / ACCA or equivalent qualified accountant with at least 5-10 years post-qualified experience.
  • Thorough understanding of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with intermediate Excel.
  • Experience leading year-end audit processes.
  • Previous experience with financial accounting and property management software (Oracle experience beneficial).
  • Thorough understanding of UK Companies and off-shore SPV structures.
  • Working knowledge of IFRS within the real estate sector desirable.
