Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up new weaving schedules, adjusting loom settings, and ensuring the quality and safety of our fabrics.
Key Responsibilities- Set up new production jobs in loom, ensuring fabric specifications are met.
- Adjust loom settings to ensure fabric quality and safety.
- Repair loom defects and ensure safe operation.
- Check fabric width, pick rate, design, length settings, and yarn used at every new start-up.
- Change looms over from different designs and gears.
- Patrol looms and complete quality check sheets at the start of every shift.
- Assist weavers to ensure all fabric is fault-free.
- Respond to loom breakdowns and repair parts as needed.
- Work with the knotting team to ensure efficient style changes.
- Update the Barco plan board to ensure accurate data.
- Maintain departmental quality, health, and safety standards.
- Knowledge of flat weaving production.
- Knowledge of Dornier, Sulzer, Somet, and Picanol machines.
- Knowledge of Camira woven products.
- Knowledge of airjet, rapier, dobby, and jacquard weaving.
- Good attention to detail.
- Mechanical skills.
- Ability to recognize and rectify mechanical and material faults.
- Excellent numeric and literacy skills.
- Experience in woven textiles.
- Experience of loom mechanics.
- Experience of yarns and their limitations/characteristics.
The successful candidate will work a rotating shift pattern, including early morning and evening shifts. The ability to bend, stretch, and lift weights up to 25 kgs is essential.
