Whether it's ensuring a secure atmosphere for attendees at major events or overseeing surveillance for financial institutions, our Security Officers are essential in fostering a sense of safety.
Contracted Hours: 36 Hours per week
Compensation: £15.76 per hour
This role involves alternating 12-hour shifts within a 36-hour contract, including weekdays and weekends across multiple locations.
Role OverviewAs a Security Officer with Securitas, you will transcend the traditional role of a security guard. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the safety of clients, personnel, their facilities, and assets, all while delivering exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Report to the onsite Supervisor and operate within a significant facility for a global leader in defense and security.
- Play a crucial role in safeguarding sensitive information across various domains including air, maritime, land, and cyber.
- Securely oversee the premises, company assets, and visitors.
- Conduct regular patrols throughout the facility, monitoring both internal and external perimeters.
- Remain vigilant to identify and deter any suspicious or potentially harmful activities.
- Maintain control over any threatening situations until law enforcement or other authorities arrive.
- Adhere to health and safety protocols, documenting and reporting any hazards or faults.
- Utilize communication devices and other security equipment effectively.
What you will need to succeed as a Security Officer:
- Prior experience in a corporate security setting is preferred.
- A clear 5-year checkable employment history is mandatory.
- Possession of a current SIA Licence or willingness to undergo necessary training for accreditation.
- Excellent customer service skills are essential.
- Strong communication abilities, with the capacity to convey authority.
- The ability to remain composed and professional at all times.
- A resilient approach to security responsibilities.
- Heightened awareness and alertness, with a cautious and inquisitive mindset.
- Basic computer literacy, including proficiency in email and two-way radio operation.
