Job Title: Shop Floor Scheduler

RPS are exclusively partnered with a global tier 1 aerospace manufacturer based in Cheshire, who are looking for a skilled Shop Floor Scheduler to join their team.

Job Summary:

The Shop Floor Scheduler will be responsible for managing Shop Floor Scheduling activities in the Production Area. This includes the management of visual systems to communicate and monitor the sequence of production orders, ensuring the availability of resources, creating and maintaining the optimal production sequence, and maximizing shared manufacturing resource output while ensuring full coherence with MPS product mix, volumes, and required availability dates.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Sequence work orders in line with latest demand requirements and aligned to MPS for specified products and production lines, understanding all the physical and manning constraints of these lines.
  • Monitor manufacturing output/performance daily against the schedule, challenging and understanding whenever performance differs from standard.
  • Monitor Stock cover daily in order to avoid Stock outs as well as overstocks by adjusting the execution sequence if possible or raising the issue with the Master Scheduler.
  • Ensure that sequenced plan is feasible and balanced, includes all scheduled downtime, and is supportable with available packaging, tooling, fixtures, and manning.
  • Monitor availability of raw material/components and escalate as required to Procurement/Master Scheduler.
  • Proactively communicate/escalate to the Master Scheduler/Area management potential production execution issues/constraints to trigger preventive actions against potential supply failure.
  • Weekly track, challenge, and report Schedule Adherence with reasons for deviation to Production Area Management and Master Scheduler.
  • Support Gemba meetings/Tier meetings as required.
Requirements:
  • Essential:
    • Secondary Education
    • Expert level for: Daily Scheduling & Execution
    • Intermediate level Excel
    • Data/Demand interrogation/ERP interrogation
  • Desirable:
    • Practitioner level for Forecasting & Demand Planning, SIOP/MPS/MRP, Master Data Management, Inventory Management, Internal Flow & Warehousing
    • Value stream knowledge of product
    • Value stream knowledge of process
