Laboratory Technician

CK Group is seeking a dedicated Shift Laboratory Analyst to become part of a prominent organization specializing in specialty metals, alloys, and materials.

This position is a full-time, permanent role.

Salary: £23,500 - £28,000 (plus an additional £6,500 shift premium annually).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct analyses and report findings on metal and refractory materials utilizing various analytical testing techniques.
  • Adhere to Health, Safety, and Environmental Policies in all tasks.
  • Follow the company's quality procedures and maintain necessary accreditations.
  • Participate in a shift rotation system (12-hour shifts - 2 days, 2 nights, followed by 4 days off) and provide coverage for absences and holidays as needed.
  • Perform testing required by both internal and external clients promptly and accurately, meeting all deadlines.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in the work area at all times, ensuring the workspace is tidy at the end of each shift.
  • Work efficiently to minimize waste production.

Qualifications:

  • HNC or equivalent qualification in Chemistry, Metallurgy, or Materials Engineering.
  • Familiarity with the types of materials typically analyzed in the laboratory.
  • Proficient IT skills, particularly in Excel.
