The Business Intelligence Systems (BIS) Team

Our BIS team is transforming from a traditional SQL-focused group into a modern hybrid cloud platform. We're bringing together the best data, analytical, and reporting tools to deliver new and enhanced products that support our users.

The Finance Workstream within BIS focuses on delivering projects for Next Finance. Our primary technologies include Azure, Databricks, Power BI, and ADF. We actively explore and adopt new technologies to innovate and enhance our processes.

We're a team of 50+ developers, analysts, and product managers dedicated to providing the business with data solutions.

About the Role

As a Senior Developer on our Finance Workstream, you'll be part of a product team developing solutions to meet the needs of various departments within NEXT. This could involve providing new data access from diverse sources or enhancing existing processes for better results.

BIS supports over 70 BI products and is constantly building more. We collaborate with business stakeholders and product owners to define the product development roadmap, eventually decommissioning older solutions and replacing them with modern, scalable alternatives that meet the evolving needs of the business.

While our legacy platform relies heavily on SQL, which will remain a core component for years to come, we're rapidly expanding our modern data platform. We seek developers with experience in tools like Databricks (Spark), Data Factory, Data Lake, Power BI, and Synapse.

Essential Criteria

  • Databricks or similar, Azure Data Factory
  • Languages: SQL, Python
  • Data Platform: Azure data lake and SQL Server RDBMS
  • ETL: SQL Server Integration Services and ADF
  • Fluent English communication skills (written and spoken) for effective collaboration with stakeholders and team members.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment within a large-scale, multi-functional technical team.

  • Languages: PySQL, C#, R
  • Reporting: PowerBI or similar
  • Modeling: SQL Server SSAS, Data Modeling
