Compliance Inspector Gas and Water Specialist

We are partnering with a Local Authority in Southwark to assist with the appointment of a Compliance Inspector Gas and Water on a 3-month contract, with a high likelihood of extension. Please submit your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: per Hour

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize technical expertise to inspect, specify, and analyze repairs required for a wide range of defects in domestic and commercial/industrial settings, including major defects.
  • Monitor and verify repairs and maintenance work to ensure completion to the required standard within agreed timescales and to the satisfaction of residents and relevant Housing Services staff.
  • Maintain control of costs by specifying accurately and completely all necessary work for defect rectification, and agree any unforeseen extras promptly.
  • Manage and monitor installation, service, and maintenance contracts to ensure compliance with the Council's requirements.
  • Provide technical support in disrepair and legal cases, ensuring timely and compliant repairs.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Relevant Accredited Certification Scheme (ACS) Gas Certificates of Competence for domestic and commercial gas core elements and appliances.
  • Certificate of competence in plumbing NVQ or C&G level, with Water bylaws certification and unvented hot water systems, or extensive relevant experience.
  • Sound previous experience in the installation, service, and maintenance of domestic and commercial heating and hot cold water building services, including potable cold water systems and communal cold water storage tanks.

Requirements:

  • Availability to work immediately or at short notice.
  • Right to work in the U.K.
