About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Vistry Group. As a key member of our commercial team, you will be responsible for providing commercial leadership on a number of mixed-tenure developments in the North West Midlands region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Optimise the profitability of contracts through effective commercial management
  • Ensure contracts achieve the optimum cashflow position
  • Manage and complete contract documentation, including Performance Bonds, Parent Company Guarantees, and Warranties
  • Ensure compliance with commercial and company procedures through the Business Management System
  • Present and agree external valuations with clients' representatives
  • Pricing and agreeing variations with clients' representatives
  • Prepare and manage key and large risk subcontract accounts from inception to final accounts
  • Subcontract procurement strategy and implementation
  • Monitor risk and opportunity schedules and manage risk from commencement to completion
  • Contribute to the management of life of site cost and revenue forecasts across multi-phase developments
  • Provide input and cost and value engineering advice throughout the design life of the scheme and attend design team meetings
  • Manage and undertake personal development reviews of associated surveying resources, including training
  • Ensure a proactive approach to dispute avoidance
  • Ensure company health and safety standards and procedures are followed throughout the team
Requirements
  • Extensive experience working at a similar level within a construction organisation
  • Demonstrable strong account management and commercial experience
  • Strong team player, with the entrepreneurial ability to operate and excel in a changing on-site environment
  • Well-developed analytical, oral, and presentation/communication skills
  • Degree qualified preferable
  • Professional membership of MCIOB or RICS preferable
  • Strong in-depth knowledge of groundworks, roads, and sewers
  • Training of and understanding of COINs
  • Training and understanding of 4p (viewpoint)
  • Management of Assistant Surveyor/Trainee Surveyor
