Position Overview:
Round Peg Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Senior Manufacturing Engineer to spearhead engineering initiatives within our manufacturing division. This pivotal role will report directly to the Technical Director and will be instrumental in shaping our manufacturing strategies.

Key Responsibilities:
The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will:

  • Develop and implement advanced manufacturing solutions for both new and existing products, aligning with departmental objectives.
  • Ensure the establishment of repeatable and profitable processes that meet production targets.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to enhance production methodologies through a Design for Manufacture approach.
  • Conduct Design Reviews and apply Design of Experiments (DOE) techniques to optimize production processes.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to achieve 100% Right First Time (RFT) performance.

Core Duties:
The role encompasses:

  • Engagement in New Product Introduction (NPI), Process Development, and Continuous Improvement (CI) efforts.
  • Utilization of effective 8D Problem Solving methodologies.
  • Implementation of best practices in manufacturing processes and quality assurance.
  • Creation of comprehensive project plans, fixture designs, and process instructions to ensure consistent production of conforming parts.
  • Maintenance of accurate MRP/ERP engineering data.
  • Design and development of manufacturing processes based on 3D models and 2D engineering drawings.
  • Management of manufacturing documentation and machine prove-out activities.
  • Collaboration with shop floor personnel to uphold quality, cost, and delivery standards.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A robust background in CNC operations, with knowledge of NC Programming being advantageous.
  • Expertise in industrial engineering principles, including cycle time reduction and production optimization.
  • Experience within the aerospace and defense sectors.
  • A solid understanding of methodologies such as 8D, FMEA, and SPC.
  • Proven experience in leading capital expenditure projects.
