Deputy Ward Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Ward Manager to join our team at a leading mental health hospital. As a Deputy Ward Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and supporting the Ward Manager in the day-to-day management of the ward.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and support junior staff and students in providing excellent patient care
  • Ensure high standards of care for patients' mental and physical health
  • Act as a role model and provide leadership to the team
  • Work effectively as part of a Multi-Disciplinary Team to achieve excellent patient outcomes
  • Support with recruitment and retention of staff
  • Conduct risk assessments and write reports as required
  • Ensure compliance with Mental Health Act Legislation and statutory regulations

Requirements:
  • Registered Nurse qualification with excellent clinical knowledge
  • Experience with care plans, risk assessments, and report writing
  • Knowledge of Mental Health Act Legislation and statutory regulations
  • Experience in staffing, skill mix, and leading shifts
  • A commitment to supporting junior staff and students
