About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner to join our team at the Day Surgery Unit, Cirencester Treatment Centre. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our Trust.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist consultants during surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
  • Prepare patients for clinical/operative procedures and provide immediate post-operative care.
  • Help control cross-infection by maintaining a clean working environment and adhering to departmental policies.
  • Act as a scrub nurse, assisting surgeons during surgical procedures and ensuring a safe and sterile environment.
Requirements
  • NMC level 1 Registered Nurse with current anaesthetic qualification or HCPC registered ODP.
  • Enhanced levels of dexterity and accuracy pertaining to clinical skills.
  • Ability to assess patient condition and implement appropriate care within the multidisciplinary team.
  • Deliver safe care within a challenging and changing clinical environment.
  • Adhere to all Trust policies and procedures and professional code of conduct.
Person Specification
  • Excellent Communication and Interpersonal skills.
  • Good command and understanding of English, punctuation, and grammar.
  • Flexible Team Worker with the ability to work under instruction and minimal supervision.
  • Ability to de-escalate and resolve complaints locally from patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Good IT skills, including a working knowledge of EPR systems and digital rostering systems.
