Founded by a dedicated team of special educational needs (SEN) professionals, our client operates several independent special schools and alternative education provisions nationwide. They serve students facing complex behavioral, social, and emotional challenges. The institution implements a forward-thinking curriculum that encompasses both academic and vocational pathways. The facilities are purpose-built, featuring resources for various subjects, including food technology, motor skills, construction workshops, and a sports hall.

About the Position:

As a Literacy Educator, you will be responsible for designing and delivering engaging lessons that facilitate student progress. Creativity is essential to ensure all students are actively involved in their learning journey. To promote significant academic growth, you will establish clear objectives that build upon students' existing knowledge.

Students will present with complex learning requirements, social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges, and behavioral difficulties. Therefore, it is crucial that you possess strong behavior management skills, along with being exceptionally resilient and patient.

About You:

  • While Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is not mandatory, you must have at least a GCSE in English and Maths at grade C or equivalent. We welcome candidates with teaching qualifications or higher education credentials.
  • Demonstrated success in recent English teaching responsibilities
  • Experience working with SEN students is preferred
  • Willingness to engage in outreach and work at various school locations
  • A valid driving license and access to a vehicle are required
  • A collaborative team player who can build rapport with students, staff, and families
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
