We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ecologist Principal to join our dynamic Nature team at AECOM. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality ecological consultancy and advisory services to our clients.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and support the preparation of bids and tenders for ecological services, focusing on the energy, defence, and water sectors.
- Oversee and manage ecological project work, ensuring necessary resources, budgets, and controls are in place to meet programme and budget requirements.
- Deliver high-quality ecological consultancy and advisory services to internal and external clients, including through our check and review processes.
- Produce ecology chapters for environmental statements and protected species licence applications.
- Author or technically check project deliverables to ensure high-quality outputs.
- Experience in leading and managing ecological surveys, licensing, and impact assessments, as demonstrated by suitable professional experience.
- Proven track record in work-winning, managing projects, project budgets, and leading stakeholder discussions.
- Strong understanding of relevant wildlife conservation or major habitat types/species.
- Membership of an appropriate professional institution and evidence of working towards Chartership (such as CIEEM or related), as well as excellent field skills in at least one specialist area, including protected species licences.
- A full driving licence and willingness to visit other locations on company business.
