Robert Walters is seeking a dynamic Financial Controller to join a high-growth business in Manchester as their number two in finance.

The successful individual will report to an impressive Financial Director and be responsible for managing, developing, and growing a team, embedding new processes and controls to ensure a smooth and efficient finance function.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mentor and develop a team of finance professionals within the Manchester office.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders from various departments, including operations and technology.
  • Oversee the production of month-end financial reports.
  • Develop and maintain cash flow forecasts and provide regular updates to the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Drive continuous improvements to finance processes.
  • Maintain the balance sheet on a monthly basis.
  • Oversee a smooth year-end audit and serve as a key contact for external auditors.
  • Provide commercial oversight of the business's financial position to inform future investments and spending decisions.
  • Play a key role in implementing systems changes or upgrades.

Your Background:

  • Fully qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with at least 2 years of experience in industry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
  • Proven experience in driving process improvements and implementing robust financial controls.
  • Strong systems skills, ideally with experience in systems upgrades or implementations.
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
  • Team management experience is an advantage.
