Quantum Computing Software Developer

At Universal Quantum, we're pushing the boundaries of what's possible with quantum computing. We're seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to join our team and help us develop cutting-edge computational frameworks and services for our quantum processors.
What You'll Accomplish- Design, develop, integrate, and test software to operate and utilize quantum computers
- Work on use cases, analyze issues, investigate, create, and communicate solutions, and lead development of components within our software stack
- Benchmark, profile, and optimize Quantum Computing processes, algorithms, and software
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of electronic engineers, physicists, hardware designers, and software developers
- Evaluate and document the systems you help design, build, and maintain
- Take responsibility for major features within the Quantum Computing Software Stack
The 3 Most Critical Attributes We'll Use to Compare Candidates
- Solid programming experience in Python or Rust
- Experience designing, developing, debugging, testing, maintaining, and profiling commercial-quality software
- Collaborative team player with good communication skills
- 3+ years of experience designing, developing, debugging, testing, maintaining, and profiling software using C, C++, Python, or Rust
- Writing readable, high-integrity, efficient, and well-documented code
- Experience designing and developing multi-threaded and cross-platform applications
- Experience with containers (docker), cloud deployment, and optimization
- Good understanding of data pipelines and databases (both relational and non-relational)
- Familiarity with Git and experience with collaborative design and development, and code reviews
- Pragmatic approach to decision-making and design choices
- Previous experience in start-ups or dynamic work environments
- Experience with distributed systems and cross-process communications
- Experience working in a multidisciplinary team and collaborating with applied scientists
- UI/UX and app development experience using a popular framework (e.g. Node)
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or a related discipline
