This is an exceptional opportunity to become part of a prominent charitable organisation, focusing on their intricate year-end financial processes. The Financial Reconciliation Specialist role will be on a temporary contract for 3-4 months, primarily aimed at finalising year-end accounts and serving as the primary liaison for external auditors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of comprehensive group statutory accounts, including handling partial exemption and restricted funds in accordance with Charity SORP.
  • Reconcile substantial volumes of financial data.
  • Develop reporting mechanisms to enhance efficiency and clarity.
  • Ensure thorough reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to guarantee accurate transactional processing.
  • Complete VAT and Gift Aid returns as required.

Person Specification

  • Preferably a part-qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA/CIPFA).
  • Experience in the charitable sector with knowledge of Charity SORP is advantageous.
  • Strong grasp of technical finance principles.
  • Proven track record of process improvement to boost productivity and efficiency.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.

This position offers a hybrid working arrangement, requiring attendance in the office for part of the week. The organisation is keen to find a suitable candidate promptly.
