Medlock Partners is collaborating with a distinguished industrial organization, eager to find a dedicated People Operations Manager with robust Business Partnering expertise to enhance their HR Team. You will oversee a team of HR professionals, guiding and nurturing them to deliver HR services across various locations.
The ideal candidate will be an integral part of the Senior Leadership Team, offering practical and strategic HR solutions to maintain current operations and facilitate future expansion. You will champion best practices and foster organizational culture to ensure alignment across different sites.
Key Responsibilities of the People Operations Manager:
- Provide exceptional HR services across multiple locations to all employee levels, including Managers and the Senior Leadership Team.
- Offer coaching and hands-on support to managers/supervisors while ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.
- Design and implement HR strategies to attract, develop, and retain a flexible, high-quality workforce in a competitive job market.
- Oversee recruitment and development initiatives for both entry-level and experienced talent in critical skill areas.
- Establish and execute development programs through apprenticeship and/or graduate trainee initiatives to cultivate talent in scarce skill areas such as engineering, continuous improvement, sales, and operations.
- Identify and/or develop best practice policies and processes around efficient HR management, including Absence, Attrition, Overtime, and Temporary staffing, to manage and minimize associated costs.
- Support cultural transformation initiatives aimed at fostering a high-performance culture centered on safety, leadership, engagement, and talent development. Create annual action plans based on employee feedback.
- Design and implement reward and recognition frameworks that align employee compensation and incentives with organizational objectives.
- Contribute to Social Responsibility initiatives by providing work placements for underprivileged community members and engaging in various charitable activities.
Key Qualifications of the People Operations Manager:
- Experience in an industrial setting, preferably with a background in Industrial Relations.
- Pragmatic, analytical, concise, and persuasive, with the ability to influence stakeholders.
- Leadership and Development experience, supporting change initiatives to enhance management capabilities within the organization.
- Proven track record of continuous improvement in HR processes.
- CIPD qualification is preferred but not mandatory.
- Willingness to travel as this is a requirement of the role.
- Commercial mindset with experience in environments where HR plays a pivotal role in business decision-making.
- Knowledge of lean methodologies would be highly beneficial.
- Experience in organizations undergoing business and HR transformation is advantageous.
