About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Plastic Surgeon to join our team at Swansea Bay University Health Board. As a key member of our Orthoplastics and Pelvioncology/Trunk Reconstruction team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality surgical care to patients with complex injuries and conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake acute Major trauma work in the MTC in Cardiff and reconstructive orthoplastics and pelvioncology surgery in Morriston Hospital.
  • Join multidisciplinary teams (MDTs) in both orthoplastics and pelvioncology.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical guidelines and protocols.
  • Participate in teaching and training of junior doctors and medical students.
  • Engage in research and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
Requirements
  • Registered with the GMC and licensed to practice.
  • On Specialist Register with GMC as a specialist in Burns and Plastic Surgery or eligible for CCT or CESR (CP).
  • Fellowship in major trauma.
  • Extensive experience in multidisciplinary skin cancer management.
  • Experience of working in a Burns Centre/MTC.
  • Experience and understanding of strategic management and leadership.
