About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Operations team as a Nuclear Materials Trainee. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the planning and execution of nuclear materials operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Develop a deep understanding of nuclear facility operations, including planning, production processes, safety cases, criticality safety, training, and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements, ensuring efficient and safe operations.
  • Participate in physical verification and audits of nuclear materials and processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of legislative nuclear material and accountancy requirements, including generation of accounts and support for licensed conditions, defence nuclear security, national audit office, environmental permits, and strategic materials strategy.
Requirements
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with various stakeholders, including DNO customers.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Medical fitness to wear a respirator when working in the materials area of operations.
